Financial Supporters

WA Department of Health
FWHC receives its core recurrent funding from Women and Newborn Health Service of the Department of Health to provide clinical nursing, counselling, health promotion and group activities.

Mental Health Commission
FWHC receives recurrent funding from the Mental Health Commission for perinatal mental health counselling.

Medicare income is received for medical appointments.

Over the years FWHC has received grants for the purchase of premises and building extensions, information technology upgrades and purchase of furniture, and for organisational development. The organisational development grants have enabled the engagement of consultants to facilitate the Board and Executive Director to develop strategic and operational plans.

WA Cervical Cancer Prevention Program
FWHC has obtained two grants from WA Cervical Cancer Prevention Program to provide Pap Smear Clinics specifically for Aboriginal women. The first program was delivered at Hilton Community Health Centre between April and September 2014 one morning per fortnight. The second program was delivered between March and June 2016 at our Fremantle premises, this time on a weekly basis. Both were provided by a clinical nurse, no appointments were needed and transport was provided by our Aboriginal worker.

City of Cockburn
A Community Grant received in May 2012 enabled us to provide some outreach groups in the Cockburn area (Yangebup and Success) between August and October 2012 for women who find it difficult to access these groups at our premises in Fremantle. The grant was for two Love Your Body Groups, one for young women and one for older women.

A Nectar for Women Grant was received in October 2012 to support crèche worker costs for an outreach postnatal support group at the Yangebup Family Centre.
